Interval thermochromic materials are pigments that are colored within set temperature range, and becomes colorless when temperature is higher or lower than this set temperature range.
1. Introduction
As known that leuco-dyes are colored or colorless when it is with or without color developer. By using a special formula of temperature controllers, we let leuco dyes are with color developer and becomes colored within specific temperature range. But the dyes will separate from the color developer and become colorless when temperature is lower or higher than set temperature range. This color changing reaction is reversible.

1. Introduction
The core contents of thermochromic microcapsule are leuco-dye, color developers and temperature controllers.
By using different temperature controllers, NCC thermochromic products come in various activation temperatures..
2. Product Description
A. Color Conversion:
When the temperature is raised to a specified temperature, it goes from colorless to colored. The product returns to the original color as the temperature raised.
Colored as temperatures raise | Colorless as temperatures cool down |
B. Available Activation Temperatures:
60℃。
C. Color:
4 available colors for 60℃ :Black,Blue, Green, Rose Red and Turkish Blue colors. All colors can be mixed with each other or added other pigments. (colors for reference)
3. Applications
A. Available Products & Applicability
C. Thermochromic Microcapsulated Powder
a. Product Description
Its average particle size is 1-15µm.
b. Properties
With good solvent resistance and dispersal, thermochromic microencapsulated powder is suitable for ink/paint .
c. Recommended Concentrations
For solvent/ aqueous based ink/paint 5%~30% w/w
(For best results, about 25% concentration is required for 20µm film thickness)
d. General Recommendations
Avoid high polarity solvents, such as methanol, ethanol, acetone, and methyl ethyl ketone, which will affect the microcapsules contents through permeation.
Changes of PH may cause changes of color conversion.
4. Miscellaneous
