1. Introduction
Invisible fluorescent materials absorb UV/IR and then emit colorful fluorescence almost instantaneously. Light energy gets released very fast in the process. Thus, when the UV/IR is dimmed or blocked, the materials stop emitting fluorescence immediately.

3. Applications
A. Available Products & Applicability

B. Organic fluorescent powder (365nm)/ 254nm
a. Product Description
Average particle size of the organic fluorescent powder is 1-10µm, moisture content ≦ 3%.
b. Properties:
Organic fluorescent powder is dye, that is pervious to light completely while dissolves in suitable solvents. It glows well and needs low concentration for applications, suitable for ink/paint and plastic injection/extrusion.
c. Recommended Concentrations:
For solvent based ink/paint 0.1%~10% w/w
(For best results, about 5% concentration is required for 20µm film thickness)
For plastic injection/extrusion 0.01% ~0.5% w/w
(For best results, about 0.02% concentration is required for 0.2cm plastic thickness)
d. General Recommendations:
Use clear resin as base material. Usage concentrations are directly related to process and print thickness.
When applied to ink, organic fluorescent dye should be dissolved in suitable solvents first. Its solubility depends on the solvent formulations. Organic invisible fluorescent dye is suitable for screen printing、offset printing、gravure printing、flexo printing、pad printing、coating、and spray.
Applicable to PP 、 PE 、 PVC 、 PU 、 PS 、 ABS 、 TPR 、 EVA 、Nylon and acrylics. Processing temperature should not be over 240℃.
It is recommended to use masterbatch for plastic injection/extrusion to be dispersed well. Masterbatch should be completely dry prior to use. When using invisible fluorescent powder for plastic injection/extrusion, well mixing invisible fluorescent powder with lubricants and additives before the powder is added to plastic for best results.
C. Inorganic fluorescent powder (365nm/ IR)
a. Product Description:
The average particle size of inorganic fluorescent powder is 1-20µm, containing moisture ≦ 3%.
b. Properties:
The products are pigments with good light fastness and long durability, suitable for ink/paint and plastic injection/extrusion.
c. Recommended Concentrations:
For solvent/aqueous based ink/paint 2%~30% w/w
(For best results, about 25% concentration is required for 20µm film thickness)
For plastic injection/extrusion 0.1% ~5% w/w
(For best results, about 0.2% concentration is required for 0.2cm plastic thickness)
d. General Recommendations:
The products are insolvable in solvents. Applications of the products are limited by their particle size. Suitable applications are screen printing、coating、and spray, not applicable to gravure printing、pad printing、 offset printing and flexo printing.
Use clear resin as base material. Usage concentrations are directly related to process and print thickness.
Applicable to PP 、 PE 、 PVC 、 PU 、 PS 、 ABS 、 TPR 、 EVA 、Nylon、acrylics. Processing temperature should not be over 240℃.
It is recommended to use products in form of masterbatch for plastic injection/extrusion for well dispersal. Masterbatch should be completely dry prior to applications. When using invisible fluorescent powder for plastic injection/extrusion, well mixing the powder with lubricants and additives before it is added to plastic for best results.
4. Miscellaneous
A. The color of invisible fluorescence powder(365nm/254nm ) appearing upon exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation will be affected by other fluorescent materials, such as fluorescent dye and brightener. Do not apply the products with those materials or the base materials containing fluorescent substances. Use UV light to check all materials prior to applications to see if they contain any fluorescent substances.
B. Dissolubility table for organic fluorescent powder
5. Others
A. Storage: Keep sealed in a dark, cool place, away from direct sunlight. Best within two years if stored correctly.
B. Certifications: EN-71 & RoHS passed. Safe for food grade packing and toys.
